“True Sound of the Underground” marks the first CD from this Swedish band I have the pleasure of reviewing. Fronted by powerhouse vocalist Liv Jagrell, this hard rock act is quite a treat taking us back to that days of older Def Leppard, Accept, Moyley Crue, and 80’s metal performers. Liv belts out a voice that defies her tiny sexy frame busting your speakers with a solid voice that boasts the audacity of Dora … Continue reading

These are some of the most enduring faces of horror, characters that have had an onslaught of sequels, remakes and imitators. The characters are so pervasive in our cultural awareness that they’re not just movie icons but Halloween favourites too.
If we’re talking Halloween then we can’t start with anyone but Michael Myers. This soulless sociopath rears his ugly head just for the holidays, leaving a path of bodies in his wake. Ironically … Continue reading
Cinema Verite, possibly a term we are hearing one too many times these days. Such is the style of filmmaking that simply involves a single POV, a handheld camera, and action that unfolds during the duration of the movie. It has also been associated with “found footage” films (though found is not always the case). This has been a trend for the last 2 years based primarily on the reality vision coming off TV fare. So … Continue reading
Since 2002, SISTER SIN has worked hard to earn their position at the top of the metal scene. They have completed several full tours throughout the United States and European regions with another US tour to be announced next week.
Amongst the many plus stages played, SISTER SIN has been able to share … Continue reading
Another tough one as there really is alot of sexy hot female leads within horror films. Rather than taking the obvious route of “hot ladies within horror”, I thought it better to focus on the sexy leads who are better known for their lead parts. Milla Jovovich as the Resident Evil lead is a great example of this, who pretty much is the face of Resident Evil films. The same could be said for Kate … Continue reading
I have seen tons of horror movies in my lifetime, and as a result I have seen more death scenes than I could ever count. Some are awesome, some suck sour frog ass, and some are just freaking weird, usually because of the unlikely item used to kill someone. Several examples come to mind, but there are some that stand out more than the others. Without further ado I present to you my list of … Continue reading
In the two years since the release of acclaimed debut Creatures, Motionless In White has constantly challenged the concept of “playing it safe”. Unafraid to make music as intense as it is intricate, their ability to interweave powerful lyrics and strong musicianship with striking imagery that has captivated both fans and media … Continue reading
Back again for more I see! Well don’t stop with 10 as there are 10 more hot sexy posters to gawk at. This “Top 20 Sexiest Horror Movie Posters list” is always open to more suggestions, so feel free to comment on a few we may have missed below. If we get enough, we’ll up the anty with another 10 (or so). Maybe this list will inspire a few more that recognize the need to … Continue reading
What can you say about this early Marilyn Manson release? It’s quite bizarre and angry. In the style of a mash-up of weird sound FX segments and garbled voce tracks, “Smells Like Children” uses the art of segueing from one piece of garbage gargle into the next with what sounds like a way to experiment with different off-beat ideas and recordings (I’m really tempted at this point to add the obvious “Smells like crap” … Continue reading
So you might recall an advert or 2? Certainly a few of these bodacious eye popping 1-sheets have made you stop once or twice to see what new film products the marketing folks were throwing at you. A few have stuck out as favorites that were clearly using sex appeal to sell its viewers on the lovely inclusions these films offered. A good example is “The Unborn” ad which features actress Odette Annable standing in … Continue reading
Alice Cooper’s release titled “From the Inside” stands as one of my favorite release from the Cooper camp. This particular theme-centered release depicts Alice’s life as he imagined it during his alcoholism stay at the New York sanitarium . The release also managed to earn him a billboard hit with the love ballad “How You Gonna See Me Now”. The album later was realized in the form of a Marvel comic single 1 off … Continue reading
Daybreakers (2009), is a vampire film noir hybrid, with a futuristic vein (see what I did there?), starring Ethan Hawke, Sam Neil and Willem Dafoe. It is directed by the Spierig brothers, Michael and Peter. The film is about a human blood shortage affecting the vampires and the struggle to find a suitable replacement. It’s quite stylish and entertaining. So there’s… wait. I think…yes, there will be…Mwhuhuhuhahahahaha!
1) The film’s opening sequence, had a vampire … Continue reading
Wes Huffor is a Southern Californian artist best known for visceral, seductive, and pathological crime and horror storytelling. Wes started out working for small press publishers in Los Angeles and the Inland Empire.
In 2008, Huffor released Charnel House, a Horror and Crime anthology under the flag of UK based publisher Broken Voice. As a nod to classic Crime and Horror with some modern twists, the stories in Charnel House were written by several … Continue reading
