MVZ

SYNOPSIS:

REVIEW:

***1/2  out of 4.

Yes you heard the title right… Milfs VS Zombies. The title in itself is something that catches your ear. MVZ for short is a fun and campy film which you can tell was shot on a pretty small budget. That doesn’t take away from the amazing make up jobs done for the zombies. The special make up fx team did a great job bringing some original and unique looking zombies to life.

MVZ2

I am going to warn you all though I am not usually a fan of zombie movies. I think they have been done to death (pun was of course intended). However this movie hooked me in because it was a zombie comedy or a zombedy. Which are believe it or not to me harder to pull off. And I think they did a great job with it.

MVZ3

When you make a VS movie the one thing you have to do is focus on both of the things that are going to fight eachother, then focus on things that get in the way of those 2 things, and then watch the final battle. All of that happened the exact way it should have.

MVZ4

I love the main 4 characters. Andrea Marie who I have personally worked with and love to death did a fantastic job as the lead. But it was an ensemble group. Everyone brought their own unique character to life. Jenny Jannetty, Brandy Peeples, and Rosanna Nelson all had a fresh approach to their characters.

MVZ9But what really sold this movie were the supporting characters including: James Balsamo as a sex obsessed (yeah, I know it’s a stretch huh) man who gets in to a very kinky situation he can’t get himself out of. David Witt who played an elder p**n star who was still in his prime. James L. Edwards as a Reverend to a church that knows the end of the world is upon us. And Chris O’Brocki, an obnoxious but hilarious man named Slade.

MVZ7

Now this movie has a good amount of nudity and sex in it. Some are hilarious scenes. Some are a bit disturbing. Actress Ophelia Rain has probably the most disturbing scene that still made me chuckle. I will not spoil it but I will say as far as I know it’s never been done before.

MVZ6

Now I seem like I’m just saying all the good stuff… with any low budget film there does come stuff that could have used improving. Some of the acting was a bit cardboard at times. The dialogue which was written by Leslie Monk and Juan Sanchez was wonderful at times and sometimes a bit off. But overall it was structured pretty well considering how many characters and scenes they had.

MVZ8

Overall… it’s a fun movie. You can tell its Troma inspired. Even Lloyd Kaufman has a couple cameos in it. If you love horror films with violence, sex, nudity, strong language, and off the wall characters then feel free to check out Milfs VS Zombies from Fuzzy Monkey Pictures and director Brad Twigg.
