Highly Anticipated Horror Series FEAR Launches on Amazon Prime Video – Explore the Ghosts of NYC

The much anticipated horror series FEAR is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

FEAR, which is inspired by macabre NYC history, is a horror web series with some comedic moments. The dark psychological story centers around two brothers living in a haunted apartment. The episodic series was filmed in the neighborhood of the infamous House of Death, purported to be haunted by 22 ghosts.

FEAR is already turning heads, and gaining recognition, including this from Mitch Horowitz, PEN Award-winning author of Occult America:
“FEAR is one of the most beautifully produced series yet seen in the genre – and as a work of suspense it deserves that overused but in this case richly deserved appellation: Hitchcockian. Oh, and I did I mention that it’s scary as hell? A hugely satisfying work of fact-based horror and a breakthrough in the maturation of the field.”

“Everything is about telling the best story you can,” creator Devon Talbott asserts. “Manhattan’s history is full of strange and dark events. That, and the nefarious side of family dynamics, was what inspired our story”.

At its heart, FEAR is about surprising the viewers by creating expectations and then subverting them to consistently engage the audience.  It’s about delivering intelligent horror, exploring and deconstructing the tropes of the genre.”

FEAR’s plot revolves around the “House of Death” in Greenwich Village. One of the primary characters, Jan Bryant Bartell, is based on an actual tenant of the notorious building. The real Ms. Bartell published a book about the paranormal activity she experienced while living in the building. . Accounts of tenants dying mysteriously have become tied into the folklore of the apartment building.

“We had some…strange things occur during filming, “Talbott says. “ We based a character on Ms. Bartell, who in real life died under mysterious circumstances, so maybe we were inviting the inexplicable. It’s not your typical horror series. It will be a truly unnerving and exciting experience that the audience will not forget.”

Devon Talbott is a filmmaker, actor, and voiceover artist in New York City. He can be seen on Netflix and  Amazon, heard on Audible, and on many other platforms. An honors graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and a member of AEA, he has performed alongside such talent as Patrick Swayze, Kathleen Chalfant, and other dedicated artists. He has worked as an actor in every medium: films, TV shows, stage, and animation, commercial, and audiobook voiceover.

The series is now available for streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
