In DEMON HOUSE, as mass hysteria breaks out over an alleged demonic possession in an Indiana home, referred to as a “Portal to Hell,” “Ghost Adventures” host and paranormal investigator Zak Bagans buys the house, sight unseen, over the phone.  He and his crew then become the next victims of the most documented case of demonic possession in U.S. history…the “house of 200 demons.”

“Demon House” will be in select theaters on March 16th

Zak Bagans is a paranormal investigator. He has been working in the world of paranormal for a long time. He is a legend and the host of The Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures” since 2008 and now Zak has documented “the most authenticated case of possession in American history.” His new documentary, “Demon House” will be in select theaters on March 16th. Zak spoke with Horrornews.net for an exclusive about “Demon House.”

Hi Zak, How are you?

Zak- A little under the weather. How are you doing?

I am doing well. Thank you. I am sorry you are not feeling well.

“Demon House” was so intense. It was scary and intense. I’ve read a lot of the different articles and some of the history on this house. I felt so bad for you when you boarded yourself up in the house. Why did you decide to take on this project?

Zak- It’s the investigator part inside of me that wanted to do it. I’ve been monitoring that house for three years with the security cameras. I just became really addicted to the house and I miss it right now. I know that sounds absolutely crazy. I miss everything about it.

That doesn’t sound crazy. But why do you miss the house?

Zak- When I was there in the house, I never got full on possessed, and at least I didn’t think so, to where I needed an exorcism or anything like that. There was a feeling that the house would give me. I didn’t know when it would happen but it was a feeling and again it sounds crazy it felt good to me but I knew it was bad if that makes any sense. When Dr. Taff was there we were able to document these energies floating around the room. Then he documented the energy going inside of me.

It was at the moment where I felt it and it was that feeling that I didn’t want anybody in the house when I was there. I wanted them out! You know, I knew that it wasn’t good and going there I didn’t know what to expect. I didn’t know whether this was mass hysteria, a hoax or what? I paid attention to the credible witnesses. The police, CPS workers… everybody. I knew that they were so credible that I couldn’t discount the possibility of this being real. Once I was there and seen how this virus affected everybody once they visited it and touched it and were exposed to it. What happened to them after they left, that was the real thing here.

It wasn’t a thing where we go there and we set up cameras and we try to capture a candlestick moving by itself or we turn on the spirit box or do EVP’s! This was the research of a force that would contaminate people and what would happen to them after or during being in the house. That was the approach of how the study turned into and studying that aspect of it.  Whenever I was there I was really sick. I know I’m not feeling well now but whenever I was at the house I was always sick. I was bed bound in the hotel for a number of days when we were there. I was not myself. I know I was ill but every single time I was there to be ill was really fascinating to me.

I did notice that you, Dr. Taff and a lot of the people seemed to be affected after being in or around the house. How did you feel after you demolished the house? Did you still feel the same energy?

Zak- Yeah, when I demolished the house I was wondering what would happen, if something bad would have happened to me just because of how much at this point, from what I witnessed and from how much I believed that they knew that I did this intentionally. But I don’t think that now that I look back. I don’t think that destroying the house per say is going to solve everything.

I don’t think that Oh wow this was my house, this is where I lived and you just destroyed it and now I am destroyed. I just didn’t want anyone living in that house. I believe that something took place in the house to conjure this so destroying the house, I believe we destroyed the man-made aspect of the portal so it was a step. Just like how you have to do multiple exorcisms. This may be a multiple process and this is based on my experiences. This was my decision to take the first step in trying to prevent anybody from living on that lot again.

I did read the articles about the Vatican would like to potentially bring out more experts to talk about people that do need exorcisms. Do you feel making “Demon House” has helped with this process and the fact that maybe it does need to be discussed?

Zak- Look, anytime there is publicity or an awareness for demonic possession I think that is a good thing. You know, whether or not this caused them to do that. I don’t believe so however, it could have played part in the overall awareness of it. Which to me is a good thing. I think what they are doing now and the timing of that and how the Vatican announced this within a week or two of the premiere is very interesting as well.

I think what we are dealing with here is a highly intelligent, God-like entity. They are extremely advanced. We cannot figure them out. We can document things that they do to us, we can sometimes witness the effects of their manifestations. But I do not believe that we can figure them out completely or we will ever figure them out. They will always be here, they will always co-exist. They will always influence us to do things. That is why they are here.

Zak, what do you want to say to the audiences and to your fans that will be watching, “Demon House?” What would you like them to know?

Zak- Just know that the first statement I received on this was that it affects men electronically and that police captain did not look away from my eyes when he told me that. I have witnessed things to see that these forces do have the ability to be aware of when you are watching them, discussing them or talking about them and they just don’t like that. I am not using that as a marketing angle. I am using that as a factual thing that I saw evidence of first hand whether it is a new breakthrough in this form of research, then that’s why I say that.

I thank you Zak and it was an honor to talk to you. “Demon House” was incredible and the work you do is incredible. I hope you feel better and I thank you very much for taking time to speak with me today for Horrornews.net. Thank you.

Zak- I appreciate you very much. Thank you.

  1. What a dork. Stop trying so hard, Zak. I’m thinking he was picked on a lot during his younger days and is trying to make everyone he went to school with think he’s cool or something now. What a freaking nerd.

    • Thx for comment, even though we don’t agree with you
research indicates Zak was contemplating going the route of a MMA fighter before his ghost hunting career took off.
none-the-less, we enjoy his Tv presentations which are far more insightful and entertaining than many of which tried that route
The film he made is worth a look
