Dustin Wayde Mills, the director that brought you the award-winning 2019 horror/comedy SLAUGHTERHOUSE SLUMBER PARTY, has taken to Kickstarter to fund a very special project. In 2010, Mills released his debut feature THE PUPPET MONSTER MASSACRE. Now 10 years later–and with dozens of features, short films, and music videos under his belt–Mills is planning an epic remake of his first feature with all-new creatures and puppets, and an all-new story! After reaching over 30% of its goal in less than 72 hours after launch, Kickstarter named THE PUPPET MONSTER MASSACRE a “Project We Love!”
Once the film is complete, backers will be able to see the finished film before anyone else. But after that it will be released for free online. That’s right, people will be able to watch the film online for absolutely free! While Dustin will be selling DVD and Blu-ray copies of the movie for those who want a physical copy, he ultimately wants THE PUPPET MONSTER MASSACRE to be seen by as many people as possible.
Dustin says: “I believe in this project so much, I have already invested thousands of my own dollars into bringing it to life. I’ve also spent hundreds of hours learning new software to handle the VFX, I learned how to sew, and I even developed new puppeteering techniques including 3D printed control mechanisms. This thing is already soaked with my blood, sweat, and tears and I haven’t even started filming yet! I want THE PUPPET MONSTER MASSACRE to be a warm, cozy, horror blanket. A crazy, fun, brightly colored, over the top spectacle that you’ll want to watch over and over.”
