“RANDOM ACTS OF VIOLENCE is the blood soaked story of two comic creators and their ultimate horror character creation gone very bad. A ‘done-in-one’ graphic novella that truely lives up to its title, it’s all brought to you by the twisted minds of JIMMY PALMIOTTI and JUSTIN GRAY and illustrated by GIANCARLO CARACUZZO and PAUL MOUNTS and lettered by BILL TORTOLINI.“

Artwork: 4.0 out of 5
This is a good looking book! While I was, in my own mind, a little critical of Giancarlo’s work on Last Resort, I think that the style of art gets better here. The faces started to get to me after a little while, but when it came to the death scenes and just the overall look it works out nicely. The same can be said about the colors and cover. All components were done just right and in the end you have a “killer” looking book on your hands.

Story: 4.0 out of 5
From start to finish I was nothing but hooked. It’s not a huge thrill ride, but what you do get is a solid story, that I found full of mystery. I was trying to play detective as it went along, thinking “Oh yeah, that guy is totally the killer,” but I was so far off. My only gripe with the book was that I thought some points should have been dealt with in more detail. It’s one of those things where the book is fine even if they aren’t, but I think a look into why the printing mishap occurred or even more details into the killer’s rational would have been nice.

Dying Breath: 4.0 out of 5
There is only one thing you need to know above everything else, $7. This is 3 comics worth of material for $2 less than grabbing single issues. It is a fun read, that if your a horror fan I suggest as a must buy. The story and artwork are solid all the way through and the ending is left open for some possibilities. A fun idea that names drops here and there, and has one wicked story that I have to find out if it is true about Mark Waid. If you give this one a chance I think you’ll be happy you did.
