These things have been around for quite some time, though it wasn’t till recently I had the pleasure to look one over. This volume which is actually issue #28 spans the Spring 2009 to spring 2010 collection. The contents, I can only describe as a readers digest for eclectics, witches and wiccan enthusiasts. When you get right down to it, it’s essentially a collection of articles which span the gamut of metaphysical and new age interest. Some cater off of historic’s and others are information based like in how to use certain magical herbs and plant varieties.

Other sections of the book as it spans a nice 152 pages…..are clearly rooted in astrology interest and things like moon cycles. The authors also span a variety of names and interests who i’m assuming are contributors who send in regular features to the book/publication.

What I liked the best about it, is that its not a deep Wiccan book or even witchcraft book for that matter, it’s more like a gathering of interesting subjects. They cover plants, historians, tarot cards, roses, pieces, Greek Gods, robes, vocabulary, zodiacs, lefties and quite a few others.

The 2nd part of the book is mainly astrology-based materials as you’d expect covering each of the signs and forecasts. But it also ends with a few reviews and product pages. The object here if you are a witch or like interest person is to collect these year to year.

The end of the book lists previous volumes which collect back into the early 90’s. Prior to that, I couldn’t tell ya. The other thing that’s a stand out is that is seems more geared to female readers than men. Things like recipes and floral arrangement articles would lead me to believe that they bank on a targeted audience.

Though that’s not to take away from the truly fascination research pieces. I found myself sort of skipping thru to the subject headers that most interested me. $12 is a fair price for this nice looking book and back pocket collection.
