L.A. novelist signing bestselling ZOMBIE ATTACK! YA duology at SaMo B&N
LOS ANGELES, CA – Pushcart Prize-nominated horror author Devan Sagliani will be signing the bind-up edition of his bestselling young adult series ZOMBIE ATTACK! on Saturday, January 17, 2015 from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. at Barnes & Noble bookstore located at the 3rd Street Promenade in Santa Monica. Described as ‘The Walking Dead meets The Hunger Games’ by fans, the series focuses not only on zombies but also on the perils of a post-apocalyptic world – especially from other survivors. Sagliani, who started by self-publishing on Amazon and was later picked up by Permuted Press after ending up on Amazon’s Top 100, is thrilled that the books have been well-received by young adult readers.
“What makes the ZOMBIE ATTACK! series special is that the main characters are teenagers struggling to make sense of a world gone crazy,” says Sagliani. “There’s no sex or bad language in either of the books. Parents tell me time and again how happy they were to find something to give their zombie-obsessed kids that’s safe to read and still engaging.”
In RISE OF THE HORDE (ZOMBIE ATTACK!, #1), California teen Xander MacNamara is left at Vandenberg Air Force Base in Santa Barbara by his older brother, Moto, with instructions to stay put no matter what happens. When a group of zombies invade, Xander is forced to flee the base and travel south to reunite with Moto at Port Hueneme. Armed with nothing but his martial arts training and katana blade, Xander fights for his life against neo-Nazis, outlaw bikers, cannibals, cult members, and flesh-hungry zombies. The adventure continues in ARMY OF THE DEAD (ZOMBIE ATTACK!, #2), which opens with Xander as the Civil Defense Coordinator in charge of a post-apocalyptic civilian colony outside of Barstow. He and his young wife are forced to deal with reconstruction, a sadistic cannibal tribe and the threat of genetically engineered super zombies. 
“Seeing my first novel go from the absolute bottom to being in stores is so unreal. It’s what every author fantasizes about,” says Sagliani, a Southern California native, “I’m looking forward to meeting fans and, hopefully, making new ones.”
