REVIEW:

More short films, kiddies! Today we have PSYCHO PATH, written by Cooper Thornton and directed by Daniel Robinette.

Our story opens with Laurel Rhodes (Abigail Wilson in her film debut), filming her video blog. Seems she has a regular series called “Off Rhodes” in which she hikes to out-of-the-way and unknown places to show off the beauty of the hiking world.

Looks like a blog I would watch, actually. Laurel is very chirpy and excited, for in this epsiode she is seeking out a reported hidden underground trail, and is looking forward to having yet another great adventure.

However, the mood changes very quickly as darkness falls and a massive storm rolls in. Seems Laurel took a wrong turn somewhere and is now hopelessly lost in the mountains. She comes across a rustic cabin, and she decides any port in a storm and sets up camp.

Now that’s not too far from reality. I’ve hiked the Applachian Trail and they have these little cottages, more like sheds really, every few miles as hiker shelters for just such an event as what is happening to Laurel. So yea, why wouldn’t she assume the same?

But there’s these weird runes on the wall, though. Maybe not a good sign, sweetheart.

Yea, this isn’t a hiker shelter. this is a murder cabin. And she walked right in.

I don’t want to give too much away at this point, but let’s just say the story ends both the way you expect, and absolutely not the way you expect.

This was a fun film. You’ll just have to watch it for yourself because I’m not telling you anything else.
