The ‘Green Room’ and ‘Rebel Ridge’ filmmaker returns with a gritty, high-stakes chase movie set inside a haunted house attraction.
A24 has officially released the first trailer and poster for SLAYGROUND, the highly anticipated new thriller from acclaimed writer and director Jeremy Saulnier (Green Room, Blue Ruin, Rebel Ridge). Previously developed under the working title October, the film is scheduled to land exclusively in theaters on January 29, 2027.
SLAYGROUND follows a gritty, high-stakes premise reminiscent of The Fugitive blended with relentless Halloween horror. The story begins on the night of October 24th following a mass casualty event at a haunted house attraction. ‘Metal Mike’ Graves (played by Cory Michael Smith) awakens inside the twisted attraction surrounded by the dead bodies of his co-workers with absolutely no memory of how they got there. As a massive police-mandated manhunt closes in, Mike becomes the primary suspect in the investigation. Escaping custody, he must navigate the lethal attraction and piece together the truth to clear his name—if he can survive the night.
The film marks a major reunion between Saulnier and A24, a decade after collaborating on the cult-classic horror-thriller Green Room.
