SYNOPSIS:
The Rage is a psychological thriller short film starring Jeffrey L. Moore, Sophia LaPaglia and Gretta Sosine about the choices we make when we are angry.
REVIEW:
More short films, kiddies! Today we have THE RAGE, directed by Alrik Bursell.
Oscar (L. Jeffery Moore) is an angry guy. Drinking alone in a bar, his mind is filled with visions of violence – some caused by him, some caused to him. Bascially, he’s just stewing over all the things that frustrate him. We’ve all been there, I think.
Meanwhile at the other end of the bar, Svylvi (Sophia LaPaglia) Isn’t having so great a night, either. Apparently her date is a no-show, and the friend she texts to meet up isn’t returning messages. Syvli decides to call it a night and heads for the door.
She bumps into Oscar (literally), spilling his drink. She buys him a new one and decides to stick around for a while.
Now there are two angry people who have just crossed paths. Wonder how wrong that can go? Or is it the best thing that could have happened to both of them?
As far as I can find, this is Mr. Bursell’s first film. At least, its his only IMDB listing. But he tells a very successful story with a small cast and minimal dialogue. The story is straight-forward and yet leaves a good amount of information up to interpretation by the viewer.
So using my special short scale of one to five, five being awesome, I’m giving this film 3 drinks.
