Scream 4 back in Detroit

Buzz has been circling around the fact that Scream 4 cast was returning to Detroit, Michigan for some reshoots.  Wes Craven has set it straight though that these are not in fact reshoots but opportunities to make some scenes stronger and better.

Entertainment Weekly caught up with Wes Craven and this is what he had to say.  “They’re not reshoots,” Craven continues, “We had a couple test screenings and we saw two scenes where they had moments you could add to and we just saw a spectacular opportunity. Bob [Weinstein] just said to me basically, ‘You go to your dark side and I’ll give you the money!’ [Laughs] The two scenes were really good, but we saw how they could be spectacular, so we thought, let’s just go for it. They were key moments of the script, so we just decided to go back and go for the grand slam on them.”

Wes Craven is very focused on this movie and knows that it has to be big.  After the bomb that Scream 3 was this sequel needs to make a big impression with its fan base.
