‘BLACK SWAN’ Dancing to the 83rd ACADEMY AWARDS

The Academy Awards nominations were announced today and once again the film BLACK SWAN is dancing amongst the top contenders. The psychological thriller snagged a total of 5 nominations including one for Darren Aronofsky in the Best Director category, Natalie Portman for Best Actress, and one for the coveted Best Picture category. THE KING’S SPEECH led the pack with 12 nominations followed closely by the Cohen Brother’s take on the classic novel TRUE GRIT with 10 nods and THE WOLFMAN picked up a nomination in the Best Makeup category.

Although nominated at the Golden Globes for her role as Lily in BLACK SWAN, Mila Kunis was snubbed by the Academy and her name was not on the roster in best supporting actress category. Another one that raised eyebrows was the name Christopher Nolan missing Oscar recognition in the Best Director category for his film INCEPTION. The complete list of nominations are below and the 83rd Academy Awards will air live on February 27th at the Kodak Theater on ABC.
