American McGee’s Alice has long been heralded as a gaming masterpiece for its visually stunning characters and intricate storyline. In the first game, the story followed a young girl named Alice whose parents mysteriously perish in a fire. Throughout Alice’s journey it is revealed that Wonderland represents the girl’s fractured psyche.

In order to reclaim control of her own mind and restore order to the turbulent Wonderland, Alice must battle her way through a looking glass menagerie of abominations born from her subconscious. Alice: Madness Returns is a third person action game in which players can explore Wonderland and encounter twisted versions of the classic characters from Lewis Carol’s novel. In the ruined wasteland of Alice’s mind, an emaciated Cheshire Cat accompanies Alice while a devious Mad Hatter lives up to his name and the toking Caterpillar undergoes a startling transformation. Like in the book, you can eat and drink to grow or shrink in size. Interactive puzzles include musical memories, picture blocks, and of course a classic game of chess.

Alice: Madness Returns will be stores on June 14th, 2011 and is rated M for Mature and will be available on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC.
