THE LOST TAPES Becomes AMITYVILLE And Gains A Release Date

Been a bit since we’ve talked about that new addition to THE AMITYVILLE HORROR franchise. Slated to heading our way from “found footage” guru Jason Blum and titled THE AMITYVILLE HORROR: THE LOST TAPES it was hoped that things would move quickly but of course, things have been silent…until today.

DIMENSION FILMS has announced a release date for Mr. Blum’s project and that date is Jan. 2nd, 2015!

They are also shortening title to simply AMITYVILLE.

Apparently Casey La Scala and Daniel Farrands will both write and direct the tale which goes like this:

An ambitious female television news intern, on the verge of breaking the most famous haunted house case in the world, leads a team of journalists, clergymen and paranormal researchers into an investigation of the bizarre events that will come to be known as “The Amityville Horror”… only to unwittingly open a door to the unreal that she may never be able to close.
