Dan Brownlie’s supernatural screenlife feature brings an online role-playing game to terrifying life.
FOUND TV is bringing a new game night to the screen this October. Award-winning British horror film GROUPCHAT premieres Friday, October 2, 2026, exclusively on FOUND TV.
Written and directed by Dan Brownlie, GROUPCHAT follows a group of friends reuniting online after a lengthy absence from their games master, Dean. The plan is to jump back into their role-playing game, Necromancer. But Dean’s newly created campaign quickly becomes far more real than anyone expected.
The screenlife horror stars Marcel Jortzik, Amy Tara, Toby Wynn-Davies, Georgie Rodgers, James Grimm and horror veteran Debbie Rochon.
Shot using five cameras simultaneously, GROUPCHAT keeps its characters isolated in separate locations on screen while the actors were actually filming together, allowing the story to unfold in real time across their webcams.
The film made its U.S. premiere on October 2, 2025 at the Halloween International Film Festival, where it won Best International Film. Its festival run also included the British Horror Film Festival, Black Sunday Film Festival and the Unnamed Footage Festival.
“Screenlife is such an important part of where found footage has gone as a genre and exploring integrating different styles of media, and we’re excited to have this one exclusively on FOUND.” said Louie La Vella, co-founder of FOUND TV.
Exactly one year after its American premiere, GROUPCHAT arrives as a FOUND Exclusive on Friday, October 2, 2026.
