Celebrities on Twitter have joined together to help support a good cause. On January 29th 2011 a charity auction named TwitChange the “celebrity tweet auction” will be held in support of Operation Once in a Lifetime. The plan is to have people bid on the chance to have celebrities follow them for a total of 90 days. The celebrities will also mention them to their other Twitter followers and get an instant claim to fame.
Celebrities participating in the auction include athletes and entertainers such as Seth Green (“Robot Chicken,” “Buffy the Vampire Slayer”) and Alyssa Milano (“Charmed”) Writer, director and actor Eli Roth (INGLORIOUS BASTERDS, HOSTEL) is promising the winner of his auction a follow, a tweet, and even a 15 minute chat on Skype where the winner can pitch him film ideas, ask random questions, or just gab about anything that’s on their mind. Who wouldn’t want to chat it up with the Jew Bear about how great it felt to shoot Hitler in the face?
Operation Once in a Lifetime is an organization that provides financial and moral support to U.S. Soldiers and their families regardless of “rank, deployment, physical condition or branch or service.” For more information on this event please check out http://twitchange.com/.
