November 13th, Denver, CO – The fans have voted and the results are in for MovieMaker Magazine’s ‘Coolest Horror/Sci-Fi Film Festivals of the World’ list, which includes the Mile High Horror Film Festival.
During the past four months, world-renowned film industry publication MovieMaker Magazine opened voting for their 25 Coolest Film Festivals of the World list and more than 15,000 people responded. Of all the horror film festivals throughout the world, the Mile High Horror Film Festival was named one of the Top 5 Coolest, along with Fantastic Fest (Austin, TX), Shriekfest (Los Angeles, CA), Sacramento Horror Film Festival (CA) and the Grossmann Film Festival (Ljutomer, Slovenia).
“We’re thrilled by this vote,” said festival director Timothy Schultz. “As a festival, our goal is to bring the best genre films from around the world and the most notorious special guests to Denver. Our mission is to create something very special for the horror genre and I believe this vote reflects this.”
Festival juror and writer of the FINAL DESTINATION series, Jeffrey Reddick has been with the festival since near the beginning. “I’ve seen it grow into one of the premiere film festivals in the U.S. Aside from a wonderful selection of features and shorts, you’ll be hard pressed to find a film festival run by such a group of all around great people,” said Reddick.
The mission of the Mile High Horror Film Festival is to showcase the very best independent horror and genre films from around the world. The 2013 film festival featured indie features such as CHEAP THRILLS, BIG BAD WOLVES and THE SEASONING HOUSE, as well as guests Linda Blair, Tom Savini, Roddy Piper, Doug Bradley, Ken Foree, Meg Foster and The Enigma, among others.
Dates and venue information for the 2014 Annual Mile High Horror Film Festival will be released soon. The festival, in its fifth year, is excited to carry on their tradition of providing Colorado and the world with the best in horror programming.
