Horror legend David F. Friedman died Sunday of heart failure at a nursing home in Anniston, Alabama. Best known for films such as 2000 MANIACS, and ILSA SHE-WOLF OF THE SS, Friedman was dubbed the father of Splatter Gore due to the excessive depictions of violence in his film BLOOD FEAST, about a man collecting female body parts to bring an Egyptian goddess back to life.
Friedman published his memoir, “A Youth in Babylon: Confessions of a Trash-Film King,” in 1990 and he is survived by his nieces and nephews.
