Scream-A-Geddon 2026: Demons, Clowns, Zombies, and One Crazy Night

Story by Michael Grise

I was invited to experience this year’s event for media night, and as someone who considers himself a horror veteran, I decided to go all in. We hit every attraction, took on Zombie Paintball Assault, spent some time in Bonzo’s Bizarre, and of course made sure to try some of the food along the way.

This year’s lineup included Bloodwater Bayou, Ravenhill Asylum, Demon’s Revenge, Killgore’s 3D Circus, Breach, and Zombie Paintball Assault, along with the new Bonzo’s Bizarre midway for 2026.

After experiencing everything, I can honestly say there was something for everyone, and one house managed to scare the piss out of me.

Breach: One Crazy Way to Start

Breach was the first house of the night, and I decided to opt into the interactive experience. That turned out to be a decision I wasn’t going to forget anytime soon.

Since I opted in, I was grabbed, separated from the group, and literally put in a body bag.

Yeah, a body bag.

It was insane and immediately set the tone for the rest of the night. Breach isn’t something you can just stand back and watch. When you choose to participate, you become part of what is happening around you, and that made it one wild way to start the night.

Bloodwater Bayou: The Woods Got Me

Bloodwater Bayou was one of those houses where the environment itself becomes part of the experience. The outdoor elements were easily one of my favorite parts. There is a deck you walk across surrounded by the woods, with lighting that makes you feel like you’ve been pulled deep into the middle of nowhere.

I know that sounds like a random thing to shout out in a haunted house review, the deck and the lights, but it genuinely made this feel like something I hadn’t experienced before. It didn’t just feel like a haunted house. It felt like you were actually entering deep into the bayou.

And then there was the spider scene.

That scene made my knees physically weak for a second. I’m not even exaggerating. There was a moment where my body had that immediate reaction of, “Nope. Absolutely the fuck not.”

Just when I thought I had made it through the worst of it, the house ends with a maze where you’re being hunted by guys with chainsaws. Naturally, I decided to be an idiot and ran away from my wife as a joke.

I turned a corner and came face-to-face with a guy holding a chainsaw. Jokes on me.

Bloodwater Bayou does a great job of making its outdoor environment feel like more than just away to establish what you are in for. The deck, the lighting, the woods, and the maze all work together to make the experience feel genuinely different.

Ravenhill Asylum Was Pure Fun

Ravenhill Asylum was just pure fun. Like Breach, Ravenhill has an interactive element for guests who choose to participate, and I absolutely loved being pulled into unexpected situations.

At one point, I ended up in an impromptu dance party with one of the patients. She started playing invisible drums, so naturally, I grabbed my imaginary guitar and played along.

There I was, air-guitaring my heart out with an insane patient like we were the headlining act at the world’s worst rock concert.

Those unexpected moments are what made Ravenhill so much fun. You never quite know where the experience is going to take you, and being willing to play along makes it even better.

Demon’s Revenge Actually Got Me

Demon’s Revenge was easily the standout house for me, and there were several reasons why.

I’ve been doing horror attractions for a long time, so it takes quite a bit to genuinely make me nervous. Demon’s Revenge accomplished that by leaning heavily into one of the simplest and most effective tools in horror: darkness.

There were moments where I genuinely couldn’t tell what was in front of me, where I was supposed to look, or what might be waiting around the next corner. When you can’t see what is coming, your imagination starts doing a lot of the work for the monsters.

But it wasn’t just the darkness that stood out.

At one point, I saw a possessed girl fucking floating all over the place. I’m not talking about simply being lifted up and down. She was sporadically levitating, moving around and screaming directly at me, and the whole thing was absolute madness.

It was one of those moments where I was trying to figure out how the hell, they were even accomplishing what I was looking at. WELL DONE!

The combination of the darkness, the demonic atmosphere and moments like that made Demon’s Revenge the house that stuck with me the most. It constantly kept me guessing about what I was actually looking at and what was about to happen next.

For me, this was the standout of Scream-A-Geddon 2026.

Killgore’s 3D Circus

Killgore’s 3D Circus was one of the most visually impressive attractions of the night.

Right from the beginning, there is a light tunnel that immediately pulls you into the experience. It’s one of those things that you really have to see in person to understand just how effective it is.

The artwork throughout the attraction was clearly done with intention and crafter beautifully. There was a ton to look at, and the entire environment felt like someone had taken a twisted circus and turned it into a full-blown horror art piece.

The 3D effects add another layer to everything, making the attraction feel disorienting and visually overwhelming in the best possible way. Between the artwork, the lighting, the effects and the overall design, Killgore’s 3D Circus brought something completely different to the night.

Zombie Paintball Assault: My First Time Hunting Zombies

After spending the night getting chased, grabbed, surprised and generally terrorized, Zombie Paintball Assault gave us a chance to fight back a little. This was my first time doing zombie paintball, and honestly, I had a blast.

One thing I really loved was how clearly you can see your shots. Even on a dark-ass night, you can visibly see each paintball flying toward its target. I had a ton of headshots and missed a lot too, but hey, not too shabby for my first time zombie hunting.

I did have one little issue when my gun jammed, but the staff were absolutely amazing. They were on it immediately, fixed the gun in under 10 seconds, and I was right back to blasting zombies.

That might seem like a small thing, but those are the moments I like to mention because it shows how attentive the staff are. They could have easily let something like that slow down the experience, but they jumped in, fixed it almost instantly, and got me back into the action.

Huge kudos to the Zombie Paintball staff. They did a fantastic job.

After everything else we had already done that night, getting to shoot some zombies was a damn fun way to round out the night.

Bonzo’s Bizarre: 30 Minutes That Felt Like 5

I also want to give a huge shoutout to the entire team at Bonzo’s Bizarre.

Every employee and every actor we interacted with in that area was fantastic. I had so much fun just walking around and interacting with everyone that somehow 30 minutes completely flew by.

That’s something I really appreciated about Bonzo’s Bizarre. It wasn’t just a place to grab food and walk around between houses. The people working the area made it feel like an attraction of its own. Everyone was committed, entertaining and clearly having just as much fun as we were.

And I must give a very specific shoutout to the clown singing into a squeaky chicken toy.

Yes, you read that correctly.

A squeaky chicken.

I don’t even know how to properly explain what was happening, but it was hilarious and had me losing it. Those are the kinds of random interactions that stick with you and make an event feel alive.

And of course, we couldn’t spend that much time there without trying some food.

We had a chicken quesadilla, a burger and a chicken sandwich. All three were great, but the chicken sandwich was easily the standout for me.

Sometimes, after getting chased through the woods by chainsaws and nearly having your knees give out because of spiders, you just need a damn good chicken sandwich.

Final Thoughts

Scream-A-Geddon 2026 gave me everything I want out of a haunt night out.

Breach gave me an experience I wasn’t expecting when I climbed into a body bag. Bloodwater Bayou gave me one of the most unique environments of the night, along with a spider scene and chainsaw maze that had me running for my life. Ravenhill gave me an unforgettable invisible drum and air guitar jam session. Demon’s Revenge brought the darkness, demonic insanity and one of the wildest levitation effects I’ve seen at a haunt. Killgore’s 3D Circus delivered an incredible visual experience, while Zombie Paintball gave me the chance to fight back. Bonzo’s Bizarre then somehow turned 30 minutes into what felt like five.

Every attraction brought something different, and that’s what really made the night special for me. Each experience had its own identity, whether it was the deep woods of Bloodwater Bayou, the unpredictable interactions at Ravenhill, the darkness of Demon’s Revenge or the completely different visual world of Killgore’s.

After experiencing the entire event for myself, Scream-A-Geddon 2026 definitely gets the HorrorNews.NET stamp of approval.
