Originally released back in 2000 (wow, do I feel old), Director Jeff Leroy’s “The Screaming” has just recently gotten a fresh Blu-ray sprucing from Visual Vengeance, and we here have procured a copy from the good group at MVDShop for our perusal and eventual roasting in the cremation oven, so settle in, read on and enjoy.

Leroy’s bizarre directorial styling takes us into a cult-like atmosphere – namely Crystalnetics, a group that promises to reinvigorate your cellular existence…and no, I don’t mean a more comprehensive cell-phone plan. It’s a spiritual group introduced to fumbling college student Bob (Vinnie Bilancio) by the eccentric Crystal Traum (Wndi Winburn) when he moves into a spare room she’s got for rent. After a short time employing the wealth of resources that the group has to offer, Bob’s entire demeanor and presence has taken an upright swing towards the positive…that is until the true effects of his new-found persona have taken over – if you’d only read the fine-print, Bob. The movie, in all its inanity still manages to offer up more than a fe entertaining instances, and with the plethora of special features that only Visual Vengeance seems to apply to their products, “The Screaming” certainly is one of those physical media packages worth raising your voice about.
