Exclusive Clip: Tom Chaney Unleashes Bigfoot in the First Look at SQUATCH

Thirty years after the cult success of Frostbiter: Wrath of the Wendigo, Michigan filmmaker Tom Chaney is returning to the woods with his latest creature feature, SQUATCH. We have an exclusive first look at the film, which promises a brutal, blood-soaked tribute to America’s most famous urban legend.

SQUATCH follows a young man who, after the mysterious death of his estranged father, travels to a remote family cabin located deep within “Bigfoot country.” While searching for closure, he finds himself hunted by the legendary beast itself.

What sets this project apart is the physical presence behind the monster. Former professional wrestler Jacob Southwick (better known to fans as Madman Fulton) steps into the fur as the title creature, bringing a massive, intimidating physicality to the role of Sasquatch.

The film isn’t just a monster movie; it’s a reunion for the indie horror community. The cast features Jack Chaney and Paige Weishuhn, alongside a notable regrouping of the cast from the 2024 horror hit Thorns. Fans will recognize Cassandra Shomer, Jon Bennett, and Bo Shumaker as they trade cosmic horror for the primal terror of the forest.

Horror fans and cryptid enthusiasts won’t have to wait long to see the beast in action. SQUATCH is set to screen at the Bigfoot Days Festival in Estes Park, Colorado. The screening will take place on Saturday, April 25, offering the perfect backdrop for the film’s debut.
