Bear witness to the jarring parallels of art and life through the haunting new music video for “Strange Things” unveiled yesterday courtesy of New Noise Magazine.

Paying artistic homage to the binge-worthy Netflix hit Stranger Things; the four wordsmiths draw on the threat of the “upside down” to spin metaphors meant to make sense of what CAMTRON 5000 describes as “the claustrophobic gray cloud that has been this past year. The project began as a solo endeavor from JOHN, the ASTRONAUT who enlisted each collaborator to blend their unique style and backgrounds and give birth to the ominous new single.

JOHN, the ASTRONAUT—songbird of atmospheric indie rock group STELLAR YOUNG, steps out of his lead singer role to lend his artful pen and haunting timbre to the track’s chorus and pre-chorus. WEERD SCIENCE (more commonly known as Josh Eppard, the long time drummer for alt-rock supergroup COHEED AND CAMBRIA) drops in with rich rhymes and intoxicating lyrical cadences shrouded in foreboding tones. Next up is MIRK, veteran of the world of hip hop and two time RIAA certified gold producer. Music fans know MIRK as the lead singer/rapper of the eponymous alternative funk/RnB band and more recently as founder of hot new hip-hop collective FOSTER HOUSE. New age rapper CAMTRON 5000 – founding member of FOSTER HOUSE and possible alien life form rounds out the roster with fast-paced wordplay and clever lyrics rich with pop-culture nostalgia.

“Strange Things” drips into your subconscious and cuts deeply into the dismal undercurrent of our reality with inflections of hope, justified resistance and a gritty sense of inspiration. Combining expertly crafted references to classic horror movies, political agendas, comic books, social media influence with the uncertainty of our collective future amidst an ongoing global pandemic; “Strange Things” is a living memoir to the f*ckery of 2020. Officially released November 20, 2020; “Strange Things” is out now and available to stream and purchase on all major digital music retailers.
