MMA Fighter Join Horror Equity Fund’s New Film, The Harvester

Horror Equity Fund, Inc. is very pleased to announce that MMA rising star, Steve Mowry, has joined the team of ‘The Harvester’. Mowry has been cast in the titular role of The Harvester. The story, written by HEF’s Brian Herskowitz and based on the graphic novel series “Rise of the Harvester” by renowned graphic artist Steve McGinnis, revolves around a hell-spawned, malevolent killer who is tasked with “harvesting” souls by his father, the king of Hell. The Harvester sets his sights on one very special child and it’s up to a courageous mother to keep her offspring safe.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvanian-born Mowry knew that college was not the path he wanted to take. Instead, he moved to Boca Raton, Florida to pursue his passion of becoming a professional Mixed Martial Artist. He is undefeated since turning pro in 2016 with 4 wins, all by finish. Steve has recently signed with Viacom-owned promotion, Bellator MMA.

“As a fan of film and horror culture, I was ecstatic to be able to be a part of a project such as this. After reviewing Steve McGinnis body of work and learning of his strong cult-like following, I look forward to bringing his character to life. I promise not to let any of his fans down!” says Mowry.

“We were searching for the right combination of intimidation and innocence.” says Marlon Schulman, HEF CEO. “The 6’8” Mowry has the size matched with youth, and a Pennsylvania clean-cut look that is perfect.” The Harvester is set to go in front of the cameras in late 2019 or early 2020.
