DR. PHIBES creator/writers Goldstein and Goldstein now developing ‘FOREVER PHIBES’ Team with Malcolm McDowell as DR. PHIBES.
McDowell: “Dr. Phibes is one of those rare original characters. I just re-read the script and think it is fantastic! I am absolutely thrilled to be working with the original writers and really looking forward to reprising this great horror classic role.”
William Goldstein, creator of Dr. Phibes, also co-wrote the original screenplay of The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971-AIP), has teamed up withhis son Damon Goldstein to pen the ‘FOREVER PHIBES’ (working title) script, a perfectly executed update for the phantasmic horror cult-classic Dr. Phibes franchise based on books three and four of The Dr. Phibes Cult-Classic Series by William Goldstein.
Goldstein and Goldstein, and the ‘FOREVER PHIBES’ Project are represented by Lloyd Robinson, Principal of Suite A Management Talent & Literary Agency and, Malcolm McDowell management by Chris Roe of Chris Roe Management.

I do hope they keep the ever-present eerie and menacing atmosphere of the original two.
Also, they might as well go “old-style”, with most scenes shot in-studio, to get that look I’m certain most Phibes’s fans crave for.
I do have to say that Malcolm is a great choice. He definitely has his work cut out for him. Noetheless he has damn big shoes to fill. Break a leg, guys…! :)

Please let the fans know if this is a continuation of the series, and not just some franchise reboot of the original film. Will there be any back story of the people previous films in the new one?
