Many Halloween attractions promise scares, but, if you’re lucky, you find one that you will always remember. The Terror of Boggy Creek in Kissimmee, Florida, is one of those experiences. It goes beyond a haunted trail or a simple Local Haunt. It offers a whole night of Florida adventure, dark comedy, unexpected scares, and plenty of opportunities to show off your fright-filled night on social media.
We decided to dive in and try everything The Terror of Boggy Creek offers. Looking back, that was definitely the right choice because each attraction provided something unique for the night. We began with the Nighttime Airboat Ride. If you haven’t ridden on an airboat before, be prepared, as these things move quickly. This was my whole parties first time on one and my heart was racing as soon as I put the provided goggles on. The wind, the speed, and the darkness are an insane mixture. Zooming through a Florida swamp at night is a wild thing to knock of a bucket list.

The wildlife sightings enhanced the experience even more. We spotted various animals during the ride, including, of course, alligators. The swamp itself feels like part of the attraction. One minute, you’re taking in the scenery, and the next, you’re wondering what might be lurking in the water.
The airboat ride was exciting, but the surprise favorite of the night was the Haunted Truck Experience: Southport Zone 9. I didn’t expect this to be my favorite attraction, but it really won me over. Picture the Jaws ride, but, on land and with a hoard of maniacs chasing the vehicle down. That’s the chaotic fun Southport Zone 9 delivers.
The comedy was what truly made this experience memorable. The actors were hilarious, and their timing was spot on. I love dark humor, and this attraction nailed it.And yes, there were surprises. At one point, we got blasted with “radioactive material” from water guns. I knew we were at a haunted attraction, but I didn’t expect to leave partially soaked from a fake contamination event. Southport Zone 9 had energy, personality, and a sense that anything could happen next.
Next up was Twisted Laughter: Zone X, the haunted trail. This section fully embraced the classic haunt feel. The trail offered many scares, creepy moments, and fun surprises around every corner. The actors brought a lot of energy, and you could tell they enjoyed their roles. That makes a huge difference. A great haunted attraction isn’t just about costumes and decorations; it’s about the people creating the experience.
For horror fans looking for something different this Halloween season, The Terror of Boggy Creek is definitely worth a visit. Come for the scares, stay for the airboats, the laughs, and the memories. Also, the merch was better than any other I have seen at a haunt. The shirt I bought glows in the damn dark! I got compliments on it to this day. We are so excited for this years event which was promised to be ramped up. Cant wait!
