$150 million Production Action/Adventure MOON AND 8 Begins Casting

Worldwide – Daryush Shokof – the director and producer responsible for “Hitler’s Grave”, “Seven Servants” and “Breathful” – has officially announced the upcoming film, “Moon and 8”, which is now in pre-production. Production is slated for summer 2013.

“Moon and 8” is an action/adventure movie in the spirit of “Independence Day”, “The Day After Tomorrow” and “The Impossible” but with an original twist. Budgeted at $150 million, “Moon and 8” will be produced through Shif Productions and Willow Road Entertainment, alongside himself, Shahin Shokoofandeh and Teresa Schaeffer. Raphael Benoliel (Midnight in Paris, Les Miserables) is attached as co-producer with Marie Selva. Teresa Schaeffer and Daryush Shokof penned the screenplay.

“Our intention is to shoot in the United States, utilizing Pacifica Ventures Studios in New Mexico as well as locations in Los Angeles, New York City, Paris, London, Instanbul and Hong Kong.” said Producer Shahin Shokoofandeh. “With Pixomondo attached, we have an award-winning special effects team on board, helping us bring Shokof’s vision to fruition.”

Barney Nikolic (Harry Potter) and Matt Smith are attached as part of the SFX team, Pierre-Yves Gayraud (Bourne Identity) for costume design, Kuno Schlegelmilch (Cloud Atlas) for make-up. The producers are in talks with composer Gingger Shankar (Passion of the Christ).

Casting will begin in May of 2013.
