The Grindhouse Film Festival: A Tribute to Brian Muir

The Grind House Film Festival kicks off at the New Beverly Cinema on Tuesday, November 16th with showings of the films CRITTERS and THE CHILDREN. The film festival is being held to celebrate the life of writer Brian (Domonic) Muir and will roll the only complete 35mm print of the film CRITTERS since its original release. The print was rediscovered in Muir’s closet and will show more than two decades later to a whole new generation of horror fans.

CRITTERS SYNOPSIS:

“A massive ball of furry creatures from another world eat their way through a small mid-western town followed by intergalactic bounty hunters opposed only by militant townspeople.”

THE CHILDREN SYNOPSIS:

“A busload of children has disappeared from the quiet New England town of Ravensback, and Sheriff Billy Hart is on the case. A short while later, he manages to track down the kids, but unfortunately they seem to have been transformed into murderous zombies by a cloud of radioactive gas. How can he stop the killer tykes before they destroy the town?”

The New Beverly Cinema is located at 7165 Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. Admission price is $8.00 per person and the first film starts at 7:30pm.
