Arrow Films announced today that the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL, the Cult Film video-on-demand service, is now available to US customers as an Apple TV channel in the Apple TV app on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and select Samsung Smart TVs. This expansion of the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL coincides with its launch in the UK.
Subscribers to the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL through Apple TV channels can watch online or enjoy offline downloads of their favourite cult movies in the Apple TV app. Through Family Sharing, up to six family members can share subscriptions to Apple TV channels using just their Apple ID and password.
The ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL service gives cult movie fans the opportunity to watch a varied and curated selection of movies that the ARROW VIDEO brand has been famous for with many movie fans all over the world. From horror to sci-fi, thrillers to westerns, the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL will launch with classic cult movies such as Takashi Miike’s “Audition,” the 70’s horror classic “The Hills Have Eyes,” Terry Gilliam’s “Tideland” and George A. Romero’s “The Crazies.” In the coming months the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL will be adding in such cult classics as “Hellraiser,” the original Japanese “Ringu,” “House,” “Elvira: Mistress of the Dark” and a collection of the Japanese classic “Gamera” movies. In addition to Cult Classic movies on the service, the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL will begin adding brand new movie releases, exclusive to the Channel, in 2020 as part of a new global strategy. This echoes the current ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL strategy in the UK of exclusive movies such as indie-horror, “Harpoon” and German horror “Hagazussa.”
The ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL will also host a growing collection of documentaries, interviews and never-before-seen content from the Arrow Video archives, as well as newly produced material. These documentaries will breathe new life on the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL, giving movie fans an immersive look into the creation of many cult movie classics such as “Donnie Darko” and “Hellraiser.” The service will be updated regularly with new content, new curation focus and never-before-seen content, all hand-picked by the Arrow Video team.
The Apple TV app brings together all the ways to watch shows and movies into one app and is available on iPhone, iPad, Apple TV and select Samsung smart TVs, and will come to Mac this fall. The Apple TV app also features Apple TV channels such as the ARROW VIDEO CHANNEL, personalized and curated recommendations, and iTunes movies and TV shows to buy or rent.
