REVIEW:
Another short film! Today we have a little bit of holiday cheer called O CHRISTMAS TREE, written/directed by Greg Kovacs.
Ah, the holidays. Christmas carolers singing in the snow, just warms the heart. When the carolers come to the home of widow Mabel (Bonnie McCrae), she is so struck by their skill that she invites them in for hot chocolate and cookies.
Who could turn down an invitation like that? so in they go. Mabel is particularly impressed with the carolers soloist, Holly (Ashley Awde). Holly, however, is handling break-up drama for a friend on her cell phone. Seems rude, after all this lady invited them in for homemade goodies and stuff. But that’s what friends are for, right?
As she goes to the other room to answer her phone, she stops in front of Mabels beautiful christmas tree. She comes to a realiztion, heads back to the kitchen, and this becomes a very different movie just like that.
I don’t want to spoil anything, I don’t want to leave you hanging, but I really can’t say anything else. This is a fun little film. I loved it. Major kudos to Ms. McCrae as Mabel. She is simply brilliant.
So using my special “short scale” of one to five, five being awesome, I’m giving this film 3 marshmallows.
