REVIEW:
More short films! Today we have “3 VERSOS” from Findastory Entertainment and writer/director Antonio Yee. This is a Spanish language film with English subtitles. Do not get turned off by that fact. Just don’t. This film is probably one of my all time favorite things that I have seen in the last year.
All of the online information I could find is in Spanish. My Spanish is really weak, but as best as I could work out –
all the costumes and effects were either made or designed by Mr. Yee. he started out working in haunted attractions at the age of 12 and continues to develop his skills.
This film has won several accolades at film festivals, and with good cause. The costumes, wigs, effects, set design, characters, everything about this thing is simply perfect.
Our story opens with a young girl named Gretta (Laura Mariscal) calling on the local psychic Margery (Edvan Galvan) for help with a haunting in her home. Gretta’s sister Catalina (Dayhana Garcia) has been attacked by a spirit. Gretta’s friend Regina (Daniela Lopez) refers them to Margery, believing the psychic can help.
The girls pool their money to pay Margery’s fee, and go to her home in hopes that Margery can make the nightmare stop. Margery is a strange bird, but she knows what she’s doing….maybe?
This film is perfect on every level. I love the look of it. The production quality is top notch. The story is really good. I have nothing bad to say. I can’t gripe about anything at all.
So using my special “short scale” of one to five, five being awesome, I’m giving this film 5 ouija boards.
