Genoveva Rossi is a well-known actress who has been working in the horror genre for several years. She has spent most of her career playing gypsies, witches, fortune tellers, Satanists, and soldiers. She is also an accomplished writer and her work can be found in UKHorrorscene.com and Digital Dead magazine. Recently Genoveva took the time to talk with me about her work.
Hi Genoveva, Thank you for taking the time to talk with me. You’ve been working in horror for a long time. What made you decide you wanted to work in horror?
Thank you so much for taking the time to interview me. Actually just working in horror since October 2011, but it’s been a wild ride. I was always a huge horror fan since childhood so it was a very natural path for me to take.
In addition to being an extremely talented Scream Queen, I know that you’ve also been a writer for UK Horror Scene , and wrote the column ”A Life in Blood: Tales of a Horror Queen.” What made you want to share your experiences in the horror world and are you still writing?
I have always been a writer and I love writing for UKHorrorscene and The Digital Dead, which are both based in the United Kingdom. I feel a great love for the UK and will be a guest at Birmingham Horror Con the weekend of Oct 28th, 2017. Great people who love horror.
I’ve read that you also have a fascination with the supernatural and the occult. What made you want to get involved with psychic readings and tarot cards? When did you know you had psychic abilities? Do you still do readings?
I come from a family of psychics and I began reading as a teenager. This has always been a part of me. I travel all over the United States reading tarot, palms, and runes at events and expos. It’s a calling.
You star in Death House, a highly anticipated horror film coming in January 2018 with some other horror legends. Can you tell me about your role in the film and what it was like working with people like Kane Hodder, Tony Todd, Dee Wallace and others?
I have a cameo in the film and it was truly an honor to work with such icons of horror. I will always remember my time on set fondly. Death House is truly a unique and exciting film.
Director Harrison Smith is a tremendously talented filmmaker. What was it like working with him on Death House?
Harrison is a great guy filled with positive energy. He was our fearless leader and a great director.
What upcoming horror films are you working on now that you are most excited about?
I am very excited to be working on Safe Place in Orlando, Florida. I am super excited that Bill Oberst, Jr. has been added to the cast. Nick Hunt has created a really exciting story that needs to be told. I have a few more big projects in the works, but nothing I can discuss yet. Stay tuned ghouls!
Do you have a favorite horror film and if so, why is it your favorite?
The Exorcist always frightened me when I watched it with my mom on TV as a child. And I was never a child that frightened easily.
Thank you so much for chatting with me about my great passions and please check me out online.
