Film Review: A Drive at Dawn

Silent supernatural thriller, A DRIVE AT DAWN, comes to Panic Fest this weekend, after its World Premiere at Fantaspoa, its North American Premiere at San Diego Comic-Con, and winning BEST INTERNATIONAL (SHORT OR FEATURE) at the Chicago Horror Festival.

Screening theatrically at Panic Fest on the Short Film Block #3 on Saturday, March 29, 4:30PM @ Screenland Armour Theatre, and then virtually on the Panic Fest screening platform.

The film will also be screened at Salem Horror Fest on Saturday, May 3rd, 12:15PM @ SATV.

Written and directed by Joe D’Ovidio, A DRIVE AT DAWN is a tense, suspenseful ride into the dark desert, where three men wrestle with an unspeakable evil. It’s an epic journey in one night, built for the cinema. Because it’s a mystery thriller that unravels slowly, it’s much less effective if we send spoilers, so we haven’t included a trailer or clip. The less said before you watch it, the better.

Review:

Written and directed by Joe D’Ovidio, A Drive at Dawn is taking away my urge to get up and drive at dawn. I love the silence. It gives it this intensity, a slight concern. Why are they silent? What are they hiding? Driving out into the middle of the desert, you can see the red flags blowing in the lacking breeze. Well, this isn’t good. Eric Lampaert, Joseph Williams, Rich Sands, and Jim Piazza do a great job. A vampire in distress. UGH… I can’t take it. Imagine that car ride all the way back home…

That was a good one. Joe did an amazing job with that. I kind of want a feature film.
