Tee-hee and yee-haw, oh ye faithful in blood and terror. I’ve got some good news. That whirlwind of guts, grue and gentlemanly demeanor , Wrath James White has a book that is being turned into one of them moving picture thingies. With sound and color and everything. If you’ve read his work, then you know he never pulls any punches and is prone to some bizarre and kick ass ideas.
The book in question is The Ressurectionist. The movie is Come Back to Me. Official synopsis of the film? Sure here you go:
Sarah & Josh are married suburbanites. After a car accident, Sarah suffers blackouts & ends up pregnant though Josh is sterile. As her life spirals she hides a camera in her home & unlocks a horrific secret with far-reaching consequences.
Of course, anyone who has read the book can tell you it is nowhere near as simple as that.
Writer/director Paul Leyden’s previous output, The Factory, doesn’t look all that great. Granted, I’ve never watched it, but it doesn’t interest me. That said, the source material is solid with this one and the stills that have been released show that he isn’t holding back on the red, red kroovy. Color me, at the very least, interested.
COME BACK TO ME will be hitting limited theaters and will show up on iN-Demand, iTunes and DirectTV on July 25th
