Acclaimed poster designer Colm Geoghegan brings his genre expertise to the next chapter of the long-running horror franchise, featuring a cast of horror icons and familiar faces from film and television.
A dark forest. A mysterious blue glow. A lantern illuminating the shadows as a paranormal investigation team ventures into the unknown. The newly unveiled poster for Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light establishes an eerie visual identity for the upcoming supernatural horror film, with artwork designed by Colm Geoghegan of Creepy Duck Design.
The striking design uses cold blue lighting, silhouetted figures, twisted woodland and a glowing lantern to create an atmosphere of dread. The figures are members of the film’s paranormal investigation team, reflecting the movie’s found-footage approach.
Its tagline sets the tone: “The lantern is lit. The cult is waiting. And evil is rising from the shadows.”
A Designer With Major Horror Credentials
Geoghegan’s work extends well beyond independent horror. His portfolio includes official artwork for Scream (2022) for Paramount Pictures, Late Night with the Devil for Shudder / Umbrella Entertainment, and genre favorites including The Black Phone, Smile, Saw, The Omen and Predator: Badlands.
His work has also attracted attention from prominent filmmakers, including Guillermo del Toro, Mike Flanagan, Jordan Peele, James Wan, Scott Derrickson, M. Night Shyamalan and Neil Marshall.
With experience spanning major studio campaigns and independent genre films, Geoghegan brings an impressive horror résumé to the new Witchcraft poster.
A Director’s Perspective on the New Poster
Director Carissa Pierson shared her thoughts on the design:
“We wanted this poster to capture the essence of Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light as a found-footage horror film. The figures you see are our paranormal investigation team, heading into the woods to uncover something they may not fully understand. Colm Geoghegan of Creepy Duck Design did an incredible job capturing that atmosphere of mystery, tension, and impending evil. The lantern becomes a beacon in the darkness, but in this story, finding the light doesn’t necessarily mean finding your way out.”

A New Look for Witchcraft
The film marks a first for the long-running franchise, embracing a found-footage format that places audiences alongside a paranormal investigation team as they explore the terrifying legacy of a cult known as the Children of the Hollow.
The poster reflects that approach, presenting the investigators against a foreboding woodland backdrop where the darkness seems to conceal something sinister. The lantern serves as the visual focal point, illuminating the ground while the team stands beneath towering trees. The cold blue palette, atmospheric fog and imposing silhouettes evoke the feeling of an investigation that could take a terrifying turn at any moment.
With its established franchise legacy, recognizable cast and atmospheric new artwork, Witchcraft: The Lanterne of Light is preparing to take horror fans into unfamiliar territory.
