The acclaimed Argentine thriller/slasher NO ONE WILL HEAR YOUR SCREAM, directed by Mariano Cattaneo (The Weirdest Girl in the World, which has reached more than 2 million views in Latin America on Disney+), is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video and Tubi across North America.
The film stars Sol Wainer (A Silent Death, Perdida), Byron Barbieri (El Eternauta, Cielo Grande) and German Baudino (What the Waters Left Behind, Historia de lo Oculto), alongside a strong ensemble cast.
Set against the feverish backdrop of the 1990 FIFA World Cup, the film follows Micaela, a young woman working in a record store and creating personalized mixtapes for customers. While an entire country is glued to Argentina’s matches, a killer begins using the games as cover for a series of brutal murders.
Micaela soon discovers that the victims are connected by a compilation tape she created and sold herself. With every match, another body appears. As she desperately tries to uncover the identity of the killer, she fails to recognize the most terrifying question of all: How many matches are left before it’s her turn?
NO ONE WILL HEAR YOUR SCREAM, is a mix between Summer of 84, Fear Street and Scream.
Early genre coverage has also singled out the film’s atmosphere and emotional depth. CineDump praised its authentic ’80s/’90s aesthetic, describing the experience as reminiscent of discovering a lost VHS-era slasher — an intentionally nostalgic quality that forms a major part of the film’s appeal.
Grimoire of Horror highlighted both the film’s narrative twist, which forces the audience to reconsider everything that came before, and the relationship between Micaela and Tomás as its emotional and thematic heart. Rather than functioning solely as a slasher, the film can also be read as a story about friendship and the psychological impact of living through a period of profound historical and social transition.
