The Queens Are Back: ‘American Horror Story: 13’ Trailer Unleashes Ultimate Mega-Crossover Nightmare

The witches are gathering, the monsters are waking, and FX has officially blown the internet apart. The highly anticipated first official trailer for American Horror Story: 13 has dropped, confirming a massive, franchise-spanning all-star reunion that promises to turn the horror anthology completely on its head.

Stepping into showrunner duties this year are Ned Martel and Charlie Carver, working alongside series creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk. Together, they have crafted a season that acts like a horror-tinged Avengers, colliding different eras of the franchise into a singular, mind-bending storyline.
The Ultimate Legacy Reunion
The biggest takeaway from the new footage is the jaw-dropping return of the franchise’s holy trinity: Jessica Lange, Sarah Paulson, and Evan Peters.
The actors are not just coming back for new parts—they are stepping back into their most iconic legacy roles, sometimes playing multiple characters who will interact with one another in the very same scenes:

Jessica Lange makes her triumphant return to the franchise for the first time in over a decade to play four of her former characters, including Murder House’s Constance Langdon, Coven‘s Fiona Goode, and Freak Show’s Elsa Mars.

Sarah Paulson pulls ultimate double-triple duty by portraying six different roles, including the supreme witch Cordelia Goode.

Evan Peters takes on five different characters, including the sinister cult leader Kai Anderson, Hotel‘s James Patrick March, and the infamous Rubber Man.

The star-studded trailer also previews the returns of Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Jamie Brewer as Adelaide Langdon, and John Carroll Lynch as the terrifying Twisty the Clown. Joining the massive legacy ensemble are franchise newcomers like filmmaker John Waters, Mean Girls star Avantika Vandanapu, and model Alex Consani.
“Witch-Hunting Season” Begins
While the exact plot mechanics are still shrouded in mystery, the trailer heavily indicates that the central narrative will anchor around the Coven characters. The footage shows Cordelia Goode warning that she senses a “harbinger of doom,” while James Patrick March gleefully declares that it is officially “witch-hunting season”. Old rivalries, unfinished stories, and overlapping timelines look ready to collide in what is already shaping up to be the biggest horror television event of the year.
