On April 24th, 2026 at 8pm at Smodcastle Cinemas in Atlantic Highlands, New Jersey, the roots will most certainly run red!
Courtesy of Big Damn Films comes “Arbor Day: The Root Of Evil” – presented in full glory at the premier home of independent film, owned by filmmaker and pop-culture icon Kevin Smith.
Every year on Arbor Day, a remote new jersey campground shuts down as locals whisper about disappearances, strange sightings, and a force in the woods that punishes anyone who dares to step inside. When a man chasing southern New Jersey Legends arrives looking for answers, the campground’s owner shares five chilling tales from Arbor Day’s past. Each story reveals what happened to those who dared to trespass and the deadly presence that stalks the trees.
Post screening, join Michael Jayne, Logan Liskovec, as well as some of the directors and cast for a Q&A on the film, and the session will be recorded for the physical release, and everyone in attendance will be added to the “special thanks” section of the Blu-Ray/DVD.
Runtime is 100 minutes and tickets can be purchased at SModcastle Cinemas – Arbor Day: The Root of Evil
2 ticket options are available, with a $25 general admission price and a $100 VIP offering which gets you early seating, a cast/crew photo op, and a limited-edition replica engraved Arborist’s axe – now how bad-ass is that??
