On Sunday June 7th 7:15pm at the TCL Chinese Theater in Hollywood, DANCES WITH FILMS will be hosting the Los Angeles premiere of DIG TWO GRAVES, an edge-of-your-seat, suspense thriller starring TED LEVINE (“Silence of the Lambs”), SAMANTHA ISLER (“Sean Saves The World”) and TROY RUPTASH (“30 Days Of Night”). Cast and crew will be in attendance for a post-screening Q&A . The film has won awards at multiple festivals across the country and is an alumni of IFP’s prestigious Narrative Feature Lab.
Writer/director HUNTER ADAMS’ highly charged script tells the story of a young girl’s obsession with the death of her brother, taking her on a nightmarish journey where she must a face a deadly proposition to bring him back. The title refers to an ancient Chinese proverb, “When you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two graves!”
Two of our generation’s finest dramatic actors, DANNY GOLDRING (“The Dark Knight”) and TED LEVINE (“Silence of the Lambs”), share a dynamic chemistry as their characters “Proctor” and “Sheriff Waterhouse” take us on a wild and ominous ride (seen through a series of flashbacks) over many decades while their horrible secret and the sinister plot begin to unravel.
Ted Levine, a versatile actor who portrays villains effortlessly, is compelling as a flawed man torn between good and evil, trying to walk a fine line as a protective grandfather, ruthless sheriff, and accomplice to a murder. Ted’s powerful acting is only enhanced by a voice that has been described as a “mixture of whiskey and gravel,” while his piercing eyes seemingly express every possible emotion. His riveting and honest performance recently won him the BEST ACTOR award at the BEAUFORT INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL.
SAMANTHA ISLER as the young girl, “Jake,” is making her feature film debut in this movie, and has since gone on to star in NBC’s “Sean Saves the World” and the soon-to-be-released “CAPTAIN FANTASTIC,” as Viggo Mortensen’s daughter. She is very much at home in front of the camera, tackling both the most heart-wrenching, frightening, and physically demanding aspects of her character with the ease and grace of someone who has been making films for years….reminiscent of a young Jodie Foster.
