All we’ve known for sure up to this point is that the next chapter in the JURASSIC PARK franchise will be titled JURASSIC WORLD and it would be released on June 12, 2015. Thanks to the director on the project we now have another tiny tidbit of info we can add to the list. Rumors have swirled for a bit now that this one was going to go the remake or reboot route. Director Colin Trevorrow took to Twitter to dispel said rumors.
“Reboot is a strong word,” he said. “This is a new sci-fi terror adventure set 22 years after the horrific events of Jurassic Park.”
What we learn from those two little sentences is actually pretty interesting. First of course, not a remake secondly the film will acknowledge its predecessors and be taking place 22 years in the future. Some of the other rumors floating around have made the point that the new film will take place in a park that has been open to the public for a while, this tweet could kind of support that theory.
Time will tell and as we get into 2014 the info should start hitting us pretty consistently. I know you don’t need me telling you this but keep it here, we’ve got this one covered.
