Up first is the review of Sinister, a movie that has a true crime author (Ethan Hawke) moving into the home of a family who were recently horribly murdered. Soon after beginning his investigation into those events, he discovers a box of Super 8 reels in the attic, each depicting a horrific murder of a family from the Sixties to the latest family. The author slowly uncovers the mystery of Bughuul, also known as Mr. Boogie, and all hell breaks loose. Doc and Thomas share their thoughts on this scary Halloween treat.
Then Thomas brings the trailer Rob Zombie’s next film, The Lords of Salem, to the podcast to discuss its potential to reaffirm the talent of its director. Doc notices all the familiar faces while Thomas compares the film to Kubrick’s Eyes Wide Shut.
We also have a trio of listener feedback from Chris, Luis and TJ about Sinister, Spider movies and a counter to our recent Grave Encounters 2 review.
Then the demented duo takes a look at horror in television. While their discussion ends up spanning decades of terror tube content, they end up focusing on two recent shows: The Walking Dead and American Horror Story Asylum. And the announce that they are beginning a new podcast to go along with one of the shows: Shock Treatment – the American Horror Story fan podcast.
