SYNOPSIS:
Cassandra awakens to a nightmare as her pleas to be seen and heard by her sister Clara are taken as supernatural occurrences.
REVIEW:
More short films, kiddies. Today we have Occurrence at Mills Creek, written and directed by Don Swanson.
Our film opens with two sisters at the bedside of their dying mother. Following her passing, the older sister Clara calls their dad (apparently not in the family picture for some time) and lets him know.
I’m confused from that point. We see flashbacks of how the family dynamic fell apart – accusations, insults, infidelity, a little bit of everything.
But then it becomes a ghost story, and after that, the story of a potential killer.
The film looks beautiful, amazing score, a lot of good things going on. But the story was all over the place and I have no idea what I just watched. Maybe I missed something important along the way. I just can’t be certain.
