Julia Leigh’s SLEEPING BEAUTY showed at the Cannes Film Festival this year and the film has been generating quite a bit of buzz. It has been dubbed by many reviewers as BLACK SWAN with hookers. In lieu of ballet dancers, a young woman named Lucy becomes dissatisfied with her life and enters the world of prostitution.

She is inducted into a strange world where she must enter the Sleeping Beauty Chamber. In this chamber young women slip into a drug induced sleep while men enter the room and take advantage of their incapacitated bodies. Soon Lucy begins to lose touch with the world around her as she strives to uncover what really goes on in the Sleeping Beauty Chamber after her eyes close.

SLEEPING BEAUTY stars Emily Browning, Rachael Blake and Ewen Leslie. The film will be in theaters on June 23, 2011.
