Indie Horror Feature ‘Bone Hill’ Unleashes Ancient Michigan Curse on Digital Platforms

Following its successful regional premiere in 2025, the supernatural thriller Bone Hill has officially expanded its reach to audiences nationwide. Now available on major streaming and VOD platforms including Amazon Prime Video, the film brings a haunting blend of psychological drama and ancient folklore to the digital stage.

Set in the remote back country of Michigan, the story centers on the awakening of a long-dormant Native American curse tied to a haunted burial ground. The narrative follows Dr. Wade Dygert, a psychiatrist reeling from the recent loss of his wife, who is drawn out of a leave of absence to treat a local resident named Laurie. After venturing onto the forbidden Bone Hill, Laurie returns in a state of violent madness that defies clinical explanation. Wade’s investigation into her condition soon ignites a perilous obsession, propelling him into a supernatural mystery where the truth threatens to cost him his life.

The production marks a significant collaboration between Michigan filmmakers and the local Indigenous community. Screenwriter Wil Radcliffe worked closely with cultural advisors from the Nottawaseppi Huron Band of the Potawatomi to ensure the film’s depiction of history, language, and lore remained authentic and respectful. This commitment to realism extends to the filming locations, as director Daniel Falicki utilized the atmospheric landscapes of Kalamazoo, Climax, and Battle Creek to ground the supernatural events in a tangible, lived-in reality.

Distributed by Indie Rights and produced by Soundstage 1 and West Prospect Pictures, Bone Hill features a cast of esteemed regional talent. Jeremy Koch delivers a grounded performance as the grieving Dr. Dygert, starring alongside Abby R. Mooring, James Whitecloud, and Roger Callard. By blending traditional horror elements with stylized animation to illustrate the town’s dark history, the film offers a unique visual experience that stands out in the independent horror genre.
