“Midnight Hour” goes back to school for a lesson in terror this August

Season four of the cult TV series, “Lee Martin’s The Midnight Hour” wraps in August with an axe-swinging, limb-wrenching new entry called “Secret of the Blood Children.”

In it, four college students planning to spend Spring break at a lonely cottage run over a man en route. Fearing retribution, one of them kills him to ensure the futures of each. Months later, they begin to realize he may not be as dead as they thought.

As much a murder mystery as a thriller, this suspenseful episode showcases the blood-and-bone special effects of film editor and series co-producer Brian Schoof. Also on display is an attractive cast and a creepy, rural setting well suited to a “slasher” story.
