The Best Horror of 2025

I suppose a disclaimer should be shoved in here… This is my opinion. I grew up watching Horror movies, and I feel the genre wholeheartedly. I cannot say I simply made a list this year. There is a variety of madness, blood, guts, gore, thrillers, excitement, sex, heartbreak, and whatever the sad feeling is…

The films are in no particular order, and I must say this year felt different. A few films made gargantuan impacts, and a few were merely skating by to visit, and perhaps say… “Hey!!! Watch me again during Spooky season.”

We should discuss the films that will be released this year. They will make appearance towards the end of the article. There were so many different films to review in 2025.

SINNERS

Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.

“Plagued by a recurring violent nightmare, a college student returns home to find the one person who can break the cycle and save her family from the horrific fate that inevitably awaits them.”

Black Phone 2

As Finn, now 17, struggles with life after his captivity, his sister begins receiving calls in her dreams from the black phone and seeing disturbing visions of three boys being stalked at a winter camp known as Alpine Lake.

Good Boy

A loyal dog moves to a rural family home with his owner, only to discover supernatural forces lurking in the shadows. As dark entities threaten his human companion, the brave pup must fight to protect the one he loves most.

Dangerous Animals

“When Zephyr, a savvy and free-spirited surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.”

It Feeds

“After a young girl bursts into their home psychiatry practice claiming an entity is feeding on her, Jordan and her clairvoyant mother must find a way to stop the force before the girl is taken completely.”

I watched this thanks to Panic Fest, and it was excellent.

Forgive Us All

“In a post-apocalyptic world where a virus has transformed humans into violent cannibals, a woman who has lost everything takes refuge in an isolated mountain cabin, where a wounded stranger arrives with a story of hope.”

Honorable mentions:
