Silent Night, Deadly Night, the infamous “killer Santa” horror film, is getting a re-release in movie theatres. Originally released twenty-nine years ago on November 9, 1984 (on the same day as A Nightmare on Elm Street) by TriStar Pictures, Inc., the film received much media attention, pretty much all of it negative, from picketing mothers condemning the film as anti-Christmas and demanded that it be removed from theatres. TriStar Pictures, unhappy with the backlash, did just that. This did not stop the film from coming to home video and spawning multiple sequels.
The digital screenings begin on Wednesday, December 4th and run through until December 17th. Click here to find out where the film will be playing in your area.
