SCREAMIFY LAUNCHES MICRO HORRORS™ WITH ‘AUTONOMOUS’ — THE FIRST HORROR SERIES SET INSIDE A REAL DRIVERLESS CAR OPERATING TODAY

Screamify, the independent horror streaming platform, today announced the launch of Micro Horrors™, its proprietary vertically formatted original series initiative, debuting with Autonomous — a 20-episode horror event set inside a modern, fully autonomous vehicle currently operating on public roads.

Starring Erin Áine and Domenic Jungling, Autonomous centers on a couple riding in the backseat of a driverless vehicle after a night out. Distracted by a heated argument, they fail to notice the car silently rerouting. By the time they realize something is wrong, the vehicle has taken them far off course. The ride-share app begins to glitch. Controls disappear. The doors won’t respond. They find themselves locked inside as the car continues driving deeper into unfamiliar territory.

What begins as relationship tension spirals into psychological survival as the machine refuses to relinquish control.

Developed by the Screamify Originals team in Nashville, TN and produced by Erin Áine and Kyle Valle of Big Squid Productions, Autonomous blends intimate character drama with real-world technology, grounding its horror in a vehicle anyone can ride in today.

The making of Autonomous will also be featured in an episode of Behind the Screams, an ongoing series launching on Screamify that highlights the behind-the-scenes drama playing out on independent horror productions.

The series is one of three original Micro Horrors™ projects slated to premiere on Screamify. Additional installments include a new genre series produced by Trent Duncan of Venture Court Productions, as well as a vertically formatted horror project from TikTok filmmaker Joshua Alden and his sister Brandi Alden.

Micro Horrors™ represents a new storytelling format built specifically for mobile-native audiences — vertically shot, episodic horror designed for immersive viewing inside Screamify’s iOS and Android apps. The slate will roll out later this year exclusively on Screamify.

With this initiative, Screamify continues to expand the boundaries of independent horror — redefining not only how horror is consumed, but where it can unfold

Independent Horror.
