Geno McGahee’s DARK PLACES Wraps Filming – Satanic Panic Horror Film Unleashing in 2026

New England filmmaker, Geno McGahee, returns to his horror roots with the Satanic cult film, DARK PLACES. Bodies are piling up, college professors are being butchered and it’s up to a couple of students to figure out what is going on. The Xposse Production will be distributed by Cinema Epoch and Cineridge Entertainment and will hit most streaming platforms in mid 2026.

The film is very inspired by the Satanic horror films of the 1970s such as DEVIL’S RAIN and RACE WITH THE DEVIL but also brings a modern approach. The film promises to keep the viewer guessing until the very end and introduces a new horror villain in Goat Head, a cult leader that has some evil plans.

DARK PLACES is Written and Directed by McGahee with Eric Michaelian as Assistant Director. The film is produced by McGahee, Rick Caride, Eric Michaelian, Gregory Hatanaka, Matt Hebert, Brent Northup and Lorrie Bacon along with Assistant Producers, Gabbi Mendelsohn, Danell Reese, Linda Riley and Cayla Harhausen.

Lindsey DeLand stars as Natalie, the young introvert navigating her first year of college. Jake Tyler stars as Jason, Natalie’s love interest and fellow student. Danell Reese took on the role of Dwight and the best villain in Xposse Horror History, Goat Head. Lorrie Bacon plays the tough as nails detective, Amy Trent, and teams up with Phil Godeck as Detective Adams, as they seek out those responsible for the murders. Eric Michaelian plays James, Natalie’s father, and Gabbie Mendelsohn is Liz, Natalie’s mother. Rita Marie Spencer plays Natalie’s best friend Debbie.

Also joining the cast were Hannah R. Barry as Jennifer, Gus Bottazzi as the dastardly Professor Warren, Amy DeMar-Dubois as Terri, Cat McDonald as Amanda Lane, Pawel Watracz returning as Rufus, Brent Northup as Bill, Ally Rusin as Krystin, Matt Hebert as Alex, Cayla Harhausen as Ava, Sam Sneed as NBA Jammer, Nick Verdi as Chuck, Roman Handlen as Billy, Carolyn Sicbaldi as a cult member and coffee shop customer, Vanessa Marini as young Natalie, Fiona Helems and Erik Zifcak as father and daughter park goers and Amber Lewis as the barista.

McGahee stated that an official trailer is in the works and that DARK PLACES will be released in mid 2026. Goat Head design and mask was created by the very talented Christopher Lee from Screwbiter Studios.
