Fear Street: Prom Queen Cast has Finally Been Revealed

Netflix is adopting the 1992 novel from R.L. Stine, with Matt Palmer directing. The streaming service has also announced the cast. You can expect to see seasoned actors such as Suzanna Son and Chris Klein. Lili Taylor and Katherine Waterston also star in the movie, with it set to be one of the biggest castings of the series. In this next instalment, prom season is well underway but when people start mysteriously disappearing, things take an unexpected turn. The screenplay has been penned by Donald McLeary and Palmer, with Caroline Pitosfky and Joan Waricha serving as executive producers.

Netflix is Expanding their Range of Content

Netflix is rapidly expanding their range of content. They have also started their very own gaming platform, which is available in several countries. Even though their range of horror-themed games is limited to supernatural themes, such as Oxenfree, it wouldn’t be surprising to see more titles added at a later date. The Netflix gaming platform isn’t available in every country, however. Canada for example, is still in beta testing. Players who cannot access the Netflix gaming platform can easily play games at a real money online casino Canada, with horror-inspired titles such as Vampire: The Masquerade Las Vegas being widely available.

The Popularity of the Fear Street Movie Collection

Fear Street: Prom Queen has been in the works for quite some time. At one point, a new entry was being developed by Chloe Okuno. Whether or not this is still in production is yet to be seen, but right now there are over 50 books in the series. Netflix is not short of content to pull from, should they want to move beyond the current realm of titles they have explored. Netflix Have not yet announced when the movie is going to be released but they are putting a lot of effort into marketing it to horror fans around the world.

It seems that evil never really dies in Shadyside, and with a killer cast, it’s going to be interesting to see what direction things go in, and who lives to tell the tale this time around.  In a first for the streaming service, the Fear Street Trilogy was released as a summer movie event. The movies came out over three weeks, with the first being in July 2021. Part 1: 1994, Part 2: 1978 and Part 3: 1666 spent a total of 12 weeks in the top 10 charts for Netflix. As the movies themselves were so successful it’s not surprising to see even more movies released. There are rumours that even more are in the pipeline, or being discussed by Netflix writers.

Nothing has been confirmed as of yet though. If the superstar cast for Fear Street: Prom Queen is anything to go by, it seems that we are in for a rollercoaster ride, and this could easily prove to be the most thrilling instalment of the series to date. With a classic theme and plenty of anticipated gore, this is a must-watch for horror fans.
